Top Foldable Phones Expected in 2019

The war of making a perfect foldable phone involves every brand. Even Google is betting on a foldable Android future. It seems we will get several choices of foldable phones this year. Apple is also working on a similar project to offer portability and convenience along with a large screen.

Nowadays, the foldable phone and the reappearance of the slider phone become the hottest trends. For your information, we are going to share some details of the incoming foldable phones right now. Some phones are expected to launch in the upcoming days, while others may take more time.

Huawei Foldable Phone

The Huawei foldable phone can be an impressive device. It is reported that the phone will be equipped with 5G. Moreover, the 5-inch wide screen will have facial ID recognition. You may get a bezelless outside 8-inch screen. As per Ken Hu, CEO of Huawei, it will become a powerful device to replace a personal computer.

Initial reports suggest that the Motorola will unveil this phone in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress this month. As per a press conference of the company, the phone will be introduced on 24 February.

Samsung Galaxy X or Galaxy Fold

The technology of this foldable phone was announced in November 2018. With Infinity Flex display, Samsung will expand to almost 7.3 inches and 2152 x 1536 pixels resolution. As per a report of Korean analyst, the cost of this foldable phone could be $1,800.

The phone will come with a whopping mAh gigantic battery and 12-MP two rear-facing cameras. The GalaxyClub report said that double batteries would provide 6,200 mAh. Batteries are split into two so that every blade will have one battery.

With the OneUI interface, you will be able to run three apps simultaneously on the screen smoothly. The phone may run on new Snapdragon mobile processor 855 by Qualcomm. It is expected that Samsung will make an appearance in San Francisco on 20th February.

Royole FlexPai

The first foldable phone was debuted in November 2018. This phone is not refined as Samsung or Huawei, but it beats the two Goliaths with its early presence in the market. The FlexPai features 1920×1440 resolutions, 7.5 x 5.3 x 0.3 inches screen and AMOLED 7.8-inch screen.

The FlexPai powered by Snapdragon 855 features two cameras at 16 megapixels and 20 megapixels. It comes with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. You can preorder it from Royole at $1,318. This phone can give a polished experience with its fluid folding and tent modes. The device is lightweight with many exceptional features.

LG

LCG is expected in 2019 at MWC (mobile world congress). The phone with Letsgodigital patent is expected with two displays instead of a unified foldable screen. There are rumors about this phone that LG G8 could have hinged display. The LG got the patents of this phone by showing off a display of flexible mobile phone that is easily foldable in half.

It seems that the foldable phone of LG will have two screens instead of three like Samsung Galaxy X. One screen may use a transparent section or may have an embedded camera in its back plate. For the final look and features of LG foldable, LG is silent because they don’t want to rush their device in the market. It could be expected in the market by the end of 2019.

Motorola

Lenovo owns this brand, and they can revive its renowned RAZR model in a foldable phone. CEO Yan Yuanqing claimed that the foldable screens would be the key to the revival of RAZR. You can expect a compact flip phone with a full screen, such as 6.5-inch.  

Unlike Samsung, Motorola is trying to carry its iconic brand RAZR. It will be a beautiful flip phone with a foldable screen inside. The CEO of Lenovo is expected to introduce innovative features and designs of a smartphone.

Motorola has filed a patent for a two-screen folding device that is easy to flip out as a tablet. The patent pronounces two cameras, hinges at the middle, bottom and top and the capability to proper up in a tent-like mode. You can expect an unfolded screen of 7 inches.

Xiaomi

Folding phone of Xiaomi is in a prototype stage. This double-folding phone will soon get a special place in the market. The phone is designed to be folded from top and bottom to decrease the size of a tablet-sized screen. Finally, you will get a compact smartphone after folding it.

Lin Bin, President of Xiaomi, shared a prototype of this phone on a Chinese social platform Weibo. The phone is in its manufacturing state, so it may take time to hit the market. Xiaomi claims that this symmetrical folded phone can combine the experience of a mobile phone and tablet. They have not decided anything about the name of this device yet.

ZTE

The Axon M 2017 was a foldable flop device. The dual-screen design looks similar to LG patent, but ZTE was not disappointed with this flop product. They are working on a bendable design. ZTE is already working on a phone with a foldable, wrap-around display.

They filed patents for their designs. The drawings reveal the general design of their product, but it is difficult to say anything about development progress, size and price.

Oppo

Oppo is working on its foldable, and it may become another Android transformer. The patents have four variations a similar design. Just like FlexPai, the display will be on the outside. Oppo is silent about the features and other details. They may share some details in upcoming days in MWC.

Apple Foldable in 2020
